The Witch’s Wand
Witches often own a number of working tools: a wand, a staff, a blackhandled knife or athame, and a chalice.
My favorite tool is my wand. Although it is recommended that witches make their own tools, my wand was made by a witch friend in England who used an ash branch which she carved and polished, then tipped with a deer’s antler and Cornish serpentine.
Traditionally the wand should measure the same length as the distance from the tip of the owner’s middle finger to their elbow. The wand has many purposes, including casting circles, invoking spirits, and aiding meditation. #judymolland#judymollandwriter#Themakingofawitch#historicalfiction#witches#witch’swand
